The Africa Mercy entered dry dock at the Astican shipyard in Las Palmas at the beginning of December for her first dry dock since starting her service in June this year. As the shipyard is no place for children all the crew members with children were housed in local hotels thanks to the generosity of local hotel chains.
Following the dry dock the Africa Mercy sailed to Santa Cruz in Tenerife where the crew were able to have a short rest before making preparations for returning to Liberia for another outreach.
